Terms of Service

1. Overview

These Terms govern your use of MyWord, an online word-guessing game operated by MyWord (South Africa). By using the service you accept these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or older if local law sets a higher age) and able to enter binding contracts to use the service.

3. Accounts & Sign-In

• Accounts may be created using username/password or Google sign-in.
• Usernames must not impersonate others or be offensive.
• You are responsible for account security and for any activity under your account.

4. Challenges & Leaderboards

• Challenges are issued by entering an exact username.
• Leaderboard entries show username, score, and profile picture (if set).
• We may rate-limit challenge creation to prevent abuse.

5. Acceptable Use & Prohibited Conduct

Prohibited activities include cheating, automation/bots, hacking, harassment, creating multiple accounts to unfairly influence leaderboards, and uploading illegal or offensive content.

6. User Content & Uploads

By uploading a profile picture or other user-generated content, you grant MyWord a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display such content within the service.

You agree not to upload content that is illegal, misleading, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise harmful, or that may negatively affect the reputation or image of MyWord.

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to remove, replace, or restrict the use of profile pictures or other user content at any time, with or without notice.

In cases of repeated violations or misuse, we may restrict a user's ability to upload or change profile pictures.

7. Intellectual Property

All MyWord content (name, logo, design, game logic) is our intellectual property. The use of "MyWord™" indicates a claimed trademark.

8. Suspension, Termination & Account Removal

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts at any time, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms, misuse of the service, harmful behavior, or for any reason necessary to protect the integrity, safety, or reputation of MyWord.

Account termination may include the removal of profile information, profile pictures, and access to active or historical gameplay data, subject to applicable law.

We also reserve the right to permanently ban users from re-registering or from using specific features of the service.

You may request voluntary account deletion via support, as described in our Data Deletion Policy.

9. Disclaimers & Liability

The service is provided "as is". MyWord is not liable for indirect losses; limits apply as permitted by law.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by South African law.
